All of the arrangements of Bill "ORANGE" Lyons will be listed here. Some of my arrangements have been pulled from the shelf due to the inability to get a license for them. Others for reasons that only God knows and He hasn't let me know why as of yet. Be that as it may, I will attempt to use this space to keep you abreast of what is happening.

Where Can I Purchase These Charts?

Currently my charts are available through:

a-cappella.com

UNC Jazz Press

Singers.com (compilation book)

What is the best vocal arrangement you've ever heard?

I didn't realize it at the time but I got to sing on it. With all due respect to the great masters that are out there (some with us and some have gone on), I got to sing on a version of "Silent Night" arranged by my very dear friend, teacher and great arranger, STEVE PROSSER. Steve wasn't going to publish it so I got his permission to use it and I have pared it down from 8 voices to 5 but will submit it as "Prosser's Silent Night". Although arranged over 20 years ago, I still get a chill every time I hear that recording. I guess beauty is never out of date. "Thanks Steve."

"Man, that would make a great song for my choir!"

You're driving along and hear a great song from the past and think to yourself, "man, that would be a great song for my choir to sing". So you drive over to your local music store and ask the clerk for any arrangement of that song. Unfortunately, the latest arrangement they have for a choir sounds like it was written during the post WWII era. You go home and you check online only to find a similar response. Where can I go to get a hip a cappella chart for my choir? Well look no further. Your answer is here

If you want "Funk-apella" I can do it. If you want "Groove-apella" I'm on it. If you want "Bossa-apella" with a little Latin flair, it can be done. But do not rule out "Mellow-apella" and any other a cappella one can sing. think.

What is Choir Karaoke?

A few years ago I directed a choir at the Honda HQ in Torrance, CA. We were known as the Sounds of Honda. During that time someone brought in an arrangement on a Karaoke disc. It was a nice song but was made for a soloist. Suddenly a light went on inside my head to create a choral piece that would work with the voicings on this disc. I had often spoken with teachers that wished they could expand what they do with their choirs, but their budget would not let them do so. Now with Choir Karaoke you purchase the band, and I will create the arrangement especially tailored to your choir and your Karaoke arrangement. Choir Karaoke...How come nobody has thought of this before?

If you can find the Karaoke disc, I can make the Karaoke chart for your choir. Imagine the possibilities of performing with that orchestra you heretofore thought was only possible in your "after I win the lottery" dreams. Just like one person sings along with a Karaoke disc, these arrangements are created with a particular Karaoke disc in mind. You find the disc, send it to me and I create the magic for you and your group. How easy can that be?

You're at your favorite Karaoke bar when suddenly you hear that song by Gwen Stephanie. After listening to someone stumble through their version you think to yourself, "if only that song were available for my choir, I think they'd really like it". Choir Karaoke is here to fill that void. If you can find the Karaoke disc, I can make the arrangement. With Choir Karaoke all you need is a good sound system (and, of course, a choir).
